Objective: Provide professional support to children at risk and their families on different issues related to child care, improving parental capacity and developing skills for effective parenting. The ultimate aims are to prevent the placement of children in specialized institutions, and mitigate other risk situations for children, such as misuse (abuse, prostitution, trafficking, involvement in anti-social deeds), dropping out of school, early pregnancy and others. The services of the Center are not only directed towards families in difficult situations, but also towards families who are planning to adopt or have adopted a child, or are candidates for foster parents or are foster parents already. The provided advices and consultations may be used by families who wish to acquire professional support and directions for raising and educating a child.
Target group: • Children and young people at risk and their families; • Children and families from community.
Services provided in the Center: • Prevention of dropping out of school. Work with children who have dropped out of school and their families; • Prevention of anti-social deeds of children. Work with children with anti-social deeds and their families; • Prevention of violence. Work with children victims of violence and their families; • Prevention of abandoning of children and their placement in social institutions; • Support and consultation of families; • Reintegration in family environment of children placed in social institutions; • Training, preparation, consultation and support of candidates for foster families; • Adoption services.
Financing: Liaskovetz municipality and Counterpart – each 50% - total – 7238 EUR
